Rocker clips (side skirts)

Hey guys, i been trying like crazy to find these clips. There for a 2001 clk430 or 55 rocker panel (sideskirts). I went to the dealer and their not sure but they ordered some in to try. The diagrams i been looking at dont help much. I have tried searching here and googling using differnt part numbers and none of them match up. Does anyone have any or know where to get them. Please help so i can put these on my car and i can drive her again. Thanks Lorenz

I know exactly what you are looking for and replaced a couple about 6 years ago. Got them at the dealer. The parts guy you tried at the dealership either looked at the wrong diagrams - sometimes the name they give for a part doesn't make sense because the translation from German to English is wrong.

On Genuine Mercedes Parts they list a couple of items on the diagram (see below) that are called jack cover fastener and a couple of other items related to the jack cover. The cover basically is a friction fit to the rocker cover so there isn't a need for a rivet/etc. I would bet this is the item you are looking for. Does the dealer order parts and if they are wrong would they still charge you - mine doesn't.

When I log on to my other computer I have an old diagram with part numbers. I check it out and see if they have something different or at least get you the part number for the parts I found on Genuine Mercedes Parts. At least it will be a start - check again with the dealer.

ok guys heres some parts numbers and pics of some of the clips for clk320 and clk430 rocker panels. Ill do my best here. The white clip, which is the top clip is part number 009-988-41-78 fits the 320 and 430. The 2 large black clips,which are the bottom clips are part numbers for each clip is 009-988-42-78 and 009-988-43-78 and that also fits a 320 and 430. The clip that looks like a T and mounts on the inside rail of the rocker is part number 001-988-36-81 and only fits a 430. The other part that goes along with the T clip looks like the hollow end of a bullet is part number 001-988-76-81, sorry i dont have that pic. Hope this helps

My dealer was helpful and actually less than some online prices. Here's a nice diagram with several part numbers:

My side skirts were hanging on by a thread with several broken clips. For my 99 CLK 430, dealer said I needed 6 male and 6 female clips per side, 12 of each for the whole car. They did not have all in stock, and I forgot how many were broken so I went with 3 per side for now.

Thanks for the info . As u can see my panel is gone . Cant wait to get it fixed .
