Stubby antenna mast cover broken

I have been trying to locate the black stubby mast antenna that resided in the middle of the roof about four inches ahead of the top of the back window. It would be nice to know what this is call in order to increase the odds of success in my search. I believe that it is the cell phone antenna but without proper documentation it is difficult to know This is a 2000 CLK320 for reference.

Thanks in advance,
Rick

I broke mine when I caught it with my car cover. Priced it from the dealer. Was like $150.00 and they needed the vin to look it up because it included the cap pre painted in your cars color. I found one on ebay they called it a W208 GPS antenna cap kit for $30.00 from a seller called partscontainer they dont have one listed now but they do have a number to call. later JBow

take off cover?

Hi,

My rubber antenna cover broke also, but I am having difficulties taking the cover off. After you loosen up the hex nut, how did you take the cover/housing off?

Thanks again for your help.

Once the nut is totally loose the cover is probably held down with years of wax or dirt. It will come off - just rock it back and forth and lift. No adhesive is applied just a gasket, the hut and the plastic cap. The cap sits on a metal antenna bracket (don't break that - its about 400 dollars). Also don't strip the black hex nut beneath the antenna cover I don't think its a separate part - think its a spacer nut. Just put the bolt on and lightly finger tighten it when you put the cover back on and make sure its threading properly.
