Hey there,

If the motor mount is broken, it may be possible that this is the cause of the vibration....no?

cheers

Don't confuse yourself by stacking problems.

MB service was right, you need to replace in pairs. Theres only 2 motor mounts. MB Service likely wants to replace trans also but they may/may not need replacing. Unless you've left this so long the broken motor mount took out your trans mounts, only a visual will tell yes or no. Its reasonable to replace whats worn/broken but just being cheap here can also bite you in the ass if mounts are all pooched. You'll just chew up new motor mounts faster and who knows, trans mounts may have caused your vibration.

Start there. If you don't trust service ask around who is good in your area.
But if its just $$$ don't be cheap. Again ask for an estimate shop it around

ouch! swagg. I know you are new but try other forums on this site before jumping head strong & light walleted into the abyss of monetary un-assed-ness. see if there are reputable independent mechanics 'indy's' in your area with MB know-how. I think the forum reads 'indy' or something; I've posted my local indy there. hey i work in the medical field so I hear how 'this' or 'that' will bust me....'i can't afford that'...blah, blah, & blah. It's your coin, your star; make it count for both. That merit taken, do not always trust stealership on things. I have a master craftsman MB tech who is 'indy' from my stealership for 1 year now. If I want an oil change minus A service, I can get it for $99 & that's synthy mobil 0-40 + fleece filter before you moan & or groan into MB ad-nausium, dig a little deeper. the 'truth' is out there. your HMO will tell you; a 2nd opinion is not always a bad thing

apologies to all, I'll explain later; but a correction for sagg's benefit.
swagg, the forum is 'recommended repair shops' . a couple of miles, some gas, but just maybe you'll get an honest assessment from a real MB guy in your neighborhood.
