I have a 2001 clk55 amg and the fuel gauge is stuck on full, i have been driving around for 2 days now and it has not moved a hair, when i turn the car off it goes down to empty like i should and when i turn the car on it always reads full, whats going on here?
Known problem with the tank senders. Either only fill your clk half way, or spend the $$ and have the fuel tank senders replaced. Do a search, plenty of topics about this problem.
That happened to me about three years ago due to tainted gas around the country... too much sulfur I believe was the issue. It oxidized and damaged the sensors. Chevron ended up paying for the repair directly.Check around and see if there is a new issue going around with bad fuel. IThe repair was $800-$900 here in Tampa.
