and Especially for the link! (Not CDL Motor sports... they've got some cool rides but their site is kinda honky)
But oh man Ive definitely found the bumper for me... and They also have a rear bumper that fits Dual Exhaust which I think is sex on any W208 if you ask me.
Now I just need my German Neighbor to translate for me and probably order for me too ha ha. Anyways thanks again!
P.S. No offense Zero, but I think we all signed for our knowledge in the great saying "You get what you pay for" when we bought a CLK. Not trying to sound sarcastic or anything but after spending almost half my paycheck on an oil change... ha ha I know its not cheap, but it is definitely worth it (Ill be changing my oil by myself next time)... but that's another story
You can get a W209 OEM bumper on eBay for cheap. I've seen people get their hot aftermarket bumper cut (keep the lower half) and attach it to the their factory bumper upper, since the aftermarket fits so poorly, with this you get to keep the original fit. Its like you've added a lip, but it all one smooth piece. So maybe you could do that with the W209 bumper.
The factory AMG bumper is $885 + paint + labor. So ~$1450 delivered.
I'm about to replace mine so I talked to a few people (body shop owners, installers) about aftermarket bumpers. The consensus is that aftermarket bumpers are generally never as good as the factory ones, even the Brabus and Lorinser ones. The fit is about 90% at best, and you can run into all kinds of wavy lines and pits in the finish. A good body shop can make up for a lot of the gaps and funky surface blemishes, but it will never be as good as a factory bumper.
The guy that's going to do the work on my car does nothing but Euro-sports cars... mostly Benz, BMW and Porsche. You should have seen the GT3 at his shop that was wrecked on 3 corners at Road Atlanta... big project - car looked new when he was done with it. He was recommended by 2 Benz dealers, and the guys at the Kinetic Speedshop. Anyway, he said if you want a perfect fit you have to get a factory bumper. He's done 80 or so 208 front bumpers so I'll go with his word.
Bottom line. You'll get what you pay for... so get something good (unless you don't care as much about fit and finish).
I strongly agree!
So $885 is for front bumper? Where to get it?
