Hi Guys,
I had to change my battery and now my radio needs the code. I bought this car used and the code card is not in the welcome kit. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
My info:
2002 CLK 320
Stock Radio
Vin #WDBLJ65G62T126365
Radio S/N: 330212853002628812
You can get it from the Benz dealer for free. I had the same trouble, but in my case, and as the nearest dealer is 100 miles away I bought the code from one of the many websites you'll find if you search. Cost me about 10 bucks and was hassle free.
I recently bought a used Mercedes (2002), and the radio code wasn't with the owners manual. I called the local dealership, gave them the VIN, and they gave me the radio code over the phone, no charge. I haven't had an occasion to try it, but I expect it to work.
pull out the radio, you need two flat pieces of metal i took apart twezers the code is on the top of the radio. this is from 1999 to 2001 so easy guys!

I always thought that the code's purpose was to deter theft...No?
So that if it the unit is stolen...the radio would be useless without a code...thus creating the deterrent. Posting the code on top of the radio defeats that purpose.
Then my question is...why have a code at all if you are going to put it on top of the radio? That is...if the code is actually on top of the radio as described above.
