Why would the headlight washers not be able to be in tact?

I've just completed my first real project on my 2000 CLK320, the MUCH NEEDED headlight replacement. I definitely could not have done it without the postings on this thread...so thanks guys ! I've attached some pics so that you can see how much of an improvement it has made.

Also, I used the Bumper Removal pics that was posted (http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w208...bumper+removal). However, I believe it was for a 430 or 55 (ie., not 320). I made some notes below.

Step 1 : Just used the jack that came with the car on each side and used jack stands to hold the car up.
Step 2 : My 320 does not have the divider bar or zip-ties.
Step 3 : I left the temp sensor on the bumper. I just disconnected it.
Step 4, 5 : --same --
Step 6 : Those rivets were a bit frustrating. I had to destoy them to get them off. I still need to go to the dealer for replacements.
Step 7,8,9 : --same--
Step 10 : My 320 does not have a radiator guard.
Step 11, 12 : --same--

I also opted to hook up the t-tap procedure to get the halos working...this was pretty easy (see earlier postings on this thread). Note that there are 3 screws (or bolts) that hold each headlight unit down. The 3rd screw on the side of the car does not fit. The new headlights is expecting a bigger screw or something. Anyway, I did not bother to do anything about this....the two screws were enough to hold them in place. I hope this helps the folks with the 320s.

OK, based on NONA's pics I just ordered a set (hat tip NONA). For the others that ordered these, how long did they take to come in? I'm just itching to get them on the car.

Oh btw: they are just $299 now and free shipping!! Thanks enforcerman.

Thumbs up

These lights seriously add a nice element to the car. I gotta' my car looks like 100k vehicle as much as it does bad ass at night. Especially when washed and under a light....oh man.

I should probably post pics. Post pics of yours when you get them on!

you're welcome buddy. You're going to love them!

Nona, nice job at tackling the install and adding some tips for the 320 owners.

I bought mine in the first round of purchases for these headlights and this is how they turned out.

I also have the crystal fog lights and HID 6000 bulbs for all bulbs.

please bark at me, but i dunno about you guys but i think the halos look like its trying to be something else its not. Why would you want a benz to look like bmw lights? I've seen these on numerous jap cars like my brother has these halos on his honda.
The Halo part looks tacky, don't get me wrong id probably get these lights if my lights were cloudy, but i wouldn't turn on the halo part if i got em.
The projector part is classy, but ewww to the halo part.

Smack me wrong???

Arrow

my lights had more cloud in them than jupiter, ohhhh snap, yea that's right.

so yea i don't know man I like them, they look great, and add to a dynamic appearance, love the black casings as well. Make the car look bad ass.

I was used to my car getting 'tourists', but after I put the halos in, I might as well have been a girl with with a nice rack driving around topless.

SMACK

Just kidding. To each their own, but for me the projectors give enough change in apperance to the w208 without completely changing the look.

As many have indicated, the halos are not that visible in daylight. During dusk and night are the only times you can even really see the halos. Then again, to each their own.
