This is crazy! I was about to swap out the battery and now after reading all of this (even though I have what I think is the code), I may get one of those devises that plugs into the cigarette lighter to retain the power - although now that I think about it, doesn't MB cars only allow you to use the cig lighter if the ignition is in the "on" position and not shut off?
Just call roadside assistance. They put in a new battery for free and retain all your personal settings.
