car shakes a little bit?

I recently got this problem, my car at idle it shakes a little bit, and when taking off from a red light in the beginning it will shake a little bit then it will be fine but at idle it shakes more. Anyone know the problem? I recentlly changed the spark plugs.

Check all your plugs, connections, and vacuum hoses that surround the area something may be knocked loose. Next I would run a fuel cleaner through the system. It could be your engine mounts I just changed mine and now I cant even tell that the car is on. Get under the car and inspect them along with your tranny mount. They could easily be blown especially on those brooklyn streets. I broke my whole engine mount bracket on a pothole in Manhattan!!!!!

hey man, i had this problem before changing the spark plugs too but when i changed my spark plugs i made sure everything was as before but ill check again. Also i never seen engine mounts on any car, where are these located exactly on our cars? And you think this can be caused due to a dirty air filter?

I have never let an airfilter get so dirty to the point where my car shakes lol. If you think that its time to change yours or have never done it. Do it. You don't wanna mess up your Maf unless you already have. One symptom is rough idle.
Its probably more likely your mounts though. Check this out...

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210...=engine+mounts

This will show you where to look even though its for an E320. Ours are in the same place and its the same procedure.
I used this DIY to do mine but I found some shortcuts and even made a tool along the way. Its a PITA the first time if you do it yourself but when you're done you realize how to do it in half the time.

I just had another thought. It could be your fuel filter. Mine was so clogged that one of the hoses burst and it filled my driveway with gasoline. Thank God my pump wasn't harmed. Change it. Its very easy to access and only fifteen bucks, which reminds me its time to do mine again.

same problem last year, engine mounts for sure, the reason why it goes away when you accelerate is because the power from the engine is holding it down. My inde said that these things were built on the weak side to prevent serious damage to the drive-train. It cost me $250 parts and labor to get engine and tranny mounts changed and changed the tranny fluid.. Good Luck!

That was a great price! Is you mechanic a crack addict lol. I paid 110.00 for my set of engine mounts and 30.00 for the tranny mount. 110.00 labor is great for all that work plus he even changed your tranny fluid WOW.

Where did you guys get your mounts? My local stealership wants 140 EACH!!

Is this something I should be able to visually see as bad? My hockey pucks (around three inches) under the engine look fine, but then again I do not know if I am looking at the correct part.
