Here's the deal,
My car was going fine up to when I changed my MP3 player..
Story is I disconnected the negative on the battery while doing this.
I found out that on reconnection I had to reset the windows, seats and move the steering wheel left and right..grand all that was fine, I got this info from the web.
I started the engine and left her run for 5-10mins, then I took it for a spin. It seems that the ECU has to learn new settings while driving.
After this I took it to the larger road and foot to the floor.......Oh boy nothing after 3,500 revs, it was sputtering and farting...
So I tried to do it gradually, and again when it got over 3,500 revs it was sputtering...
So I dropped it to the Merc dealer today and they ran a diag on it..
Results were AIR MASS ia 120 Kg/H @ 5200 rpm whereas it should be 440-540 @ 5200rpm..
Also the HFM-SFI Voltage is only 2.82, it seems it should be 4.1 - 4.5 Volts.
He said the AFM figure drop to 4Kg and it's suppose to be between 8-13Kg.
Now this means little or nothing to me, but what I do understand is that they want to charge me €420 ex Vat ($650 ex vat) for a new Air flow Meter..
As you can imagine, I was pretty shocked...
I drive a CLK230 Kompressor AUTO.. to me it seems the Super Charge is not kicking in.
I can drive the car normally as long as I don't hit 3,500 rpm...but as soon as you floor it she refuses to go faster..
I can take off in 1st up the revs no problem but it's when I am higher up the gears I am not getting any kick-back!! She's driving fine other than this problem.
Any help would be great... I haven't got the money to spend on a Mass Meter at the moment..
