Need advice - Front windshield replacement

Ah, this is the second time my windshield cracked (pebble hit). I called up two dealers, one is quoting $800 plus tax and other is quoting $364 installed (both rain sensing windshield quotes). Please advise if $364 is a good price or if I should try autoglass or something. I hate these pebbles on the road

Or can anyone please recommend me to a dealership to see if I can get a better quote (Valencia, Westlake Village, Calabasas...CA)? Appreciate ur feedback in advance

I'd say that $364 is pretty good -I've never been able to find anything cheaper then $450. Just make sure you get the right tint!

I just had my windshiled replaced under insurance and the price they got quoted from one of the dealers here was around $500. So for me all it was a$100 Comp deductable.

I got a quote for $838 ($364 dealer quoted was aftermarket windshield, can't believe Mercedes has started selling aftermarket products..lol) The windshield is $390 and $350 or so to install it. The guy said that there is a special gel that goes in, some wind noise dampner, moulding $90etc etc.. Is that really true with our CLKs? Or he just trying to make money since he is probably assuming I'll use insurance.
