Cracked oil pan!
I hit a super dip/pothole or something last night and cracked my oil pan. I had to drive for about 3/4 of a mile after my oil level light came on. How would I know if I caused any damage to the engine. I only started it up again this morning to drive it about 10ft onto my ramps to check out the damage. Will just starting it up and putting it on the ramps hurt the car? It was still dripping oil when I started it. Should I pour oil in the car (even though its gonna leak out) before I put it on the ramps again to put the new pan on? Thanks in advance for all advice

If you're going to start it up again definitely refill oil otherwise you risk damaging your engine.

get some buddies and push her up... you're going to just spew oil if you refill, and why run the risk?

use floor jacks to lift the car.
it seems there is no gasket you can buy for the pan.

Anybody know if that sealant is superior or inferior to Ultra-Black silicone?
