I bought a Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) from this outfit and they sent me a defective unit. I replaced the Air Filter anf the MAF. Approximately every other day after replacing the unit I would again throw the same P0170 & P0173 codes. I call up this oufit to advised that I was still throwing a P0170 & P0173 code after replacing the MAF and the guy went " we sell a bunch of those MAF and have not had one returned yet" Duh!! there is always a first. The guy was basically busting my balls and told me he was not gonna take the unit back because anything can throw that P0170 & P0173 code and wanted to know who is my mechanic and which diagnostic system I used to diagnois the vehicle.
To make a long story short I disputed the charge on my credit card and bought another unit from Autohauz.com and replaced the defective one from DIYAUTOPARTS.COM and problem fixed immediately. I have not seen the CEL in @ a month and NO P0173 & P0173 code present when checked.
Stay away from DIYAUTOPARTS.COM they do not back their product.
Good thing you posted this up. I was planning to replace mine.
By the way, for anyone else who reads this thread/post...
How often or when are you normally suppose to change your Mass Air Flow Sensor?
Thats right there is no scheduled change interval. My MAF went out at 166K miles. Make sure you change the air filter also and use an OEM BOSCH brand because mine did not like that aftermarket brand MEYLE, it's a bit cheaper but save y'self the headache IMHO.
