Intake Filter

I believe others have commented on this but has anyone tried this intake. I read feedback from buyers and everyone seems to leave a positive feedback. ????

eBay Motors: Mercedes ML55 CLK430 E430 E320 CLK320 Intake Filter * (item 230239584041 end time Apr-10-08 10:49:33 PDT)

Please do not use that intake. It would do nothing but suck in hot air. Plus, with a 430? I think that's a no go.

I agree with jtbeche. The original design is much better in terms of forcing air into the engine. This one just keep sucking hot air from your engine compartment.

These guys are right. Colder air is more dense than the hot air from the engine compartment and that equals better performance. I don't care what other people have written about the product. You would have poorer performance from that intake/filter.

What you guys say make sense. I just thought it was an inexpensive buy plus good reviews from buyers. I was also concerned about the size of dirt particles this ebay unit could filter. I recently went back to stock filters after using K&N for years primarily out of concern for the size of particle filtration and the mileage on my engine 160,000+
