My blower motor emits a nearly constant high-pitched squeak, that gets worse on braking- I think it might be the bearings and the g-force of braking forces it more off axis. Anyway, has anybody ever changed a blower out on one of these? Am I going to want to bang my head against the wall attempting it myself? Thanks in advance...

Don't know if you git this fixed, but I had the same problem.
it was a small piece of foam tape that pinched off got caught in the fan blades. That little piece of tape was enough to off balance the fan which made it squeak. I is simple enough to acces the fan which is under the glove box on the passenger side. Just 2 clips to remove the filter and another to remove the fan cover.
Try that.
