This is pretty ambitious but I think I can do it, if there is anyone on here that has some programing knowledge that wants to help out just let me know. I am aiming to be able to play music and be able to make calls through the adapter in the center consul, it may be pretty hard and take a little development, anyone that wants to join in feel free! Once I get it done you should be able to use it for any ipod, so the people that dont have iphones can still benefit!

and I dont think the iPod adapters work with the iPhone

Some do, some dont.. Its a crapshoot! Thats why im building it from the ground up!

I don't know if this is exactly what you guys mean but if you use one of these iPhone Headphone Adapter Roundup | The Apple Blog
to connect it to your aux input in your stereo then you should be cool if you dont mind mounting and using your phones touchscreen.

Also I know that the jensen vm9022 is compatible with the iphone letting you surf your iphone music library onscreen and connects to your phone using integrated bluetooth downloading your whole phone book also navigable onscreen. I know you guys may be a little apprehensive about the name brand but I have heard nothing but good things about the unit.

no, he's talking about using it as speakerphone through the car as well, like the original car phone that's hooked up in the center console

nice product placement, haha, well bluetooth sucks, and its supposed to be integration, not to buy something and velcro some weird looking puck on our clean interiors, thanks though
