This subject has raised its head again recently and it was discussed as to why in the UK and Europe we drive so many diesels and smaller engines to get good MPG due to fuel prices being so high.
As for my MPG on my CLK, when I bought it, I got it from London and I had to fly down from Scotland. My drive back was 500 miles, which constitues a LONG trip in Britain! and on the drive back to Scotland I could cruise at 80mph and get the best MPG getting 36.5 MPG. I found 80 mph the best economy as any faster and the MPG went down, and it didnt increase when I reduced speed so I found the optimum speed.
Normal driving I only get 24 MPG which is town traffic.
For everyone that thinks they get terrible fuel economy in a 430, try resetting your MPG calc. once you are up to speed on a highway. You'll realize that on the highways, these cars generally get 25+. Now, once you add in the stop and go, acceleration, braking, etc. of every day driving, youll be lucky to break 19-20mpg average in any type of urban area.

Not to mention a mustang or two you need to teach a lesson.

Put the display on "Since Start"... get up to speed on the highway, hold down the little R on the lower left side of the dash. It'll flash to all 0s, and you'll start averaging from there.
Or, if you wanna see that number really shoot up... get to about 100 mph, reset it, then take your foot off the gas and coast down to 60 and engage cruise.

ha ha.... yeahhh.....go get those Mustang ba#tards!!
