I'm trying to lift my CLK up to change oil and the trans fluid. I use my floor jack and lift it where the factory hand jack goes. Once I lift one side up, I don't see any 'frame' part where I can place the jack stand. On most cars, you can see the subframe and place the jack stand there. Too many plastic cover under the car.
I've used the lower a-arm to suspend the front. This isn't the best angle, but hopefully it will help. Once I have it on the stands, I shake the car before taking the wheels completely off. This ensures it's not going to fall down on it's own.
Lastly, using a vacuum pump makes oil changes much easier.
Thanks MarcusF. After I removed the plastic cover under the car, I used the frame/crossbar where the a-arms are mounted on. If I lift the front high enough, I can put a jackstand on the rear near the factory hand jack lift points.
I completed changing the engine oil and the trans fluids. The jobs are easy after I read the DIYs here. This forum is great. Thanks you all.
