Our baby sits in a Recaro Young Profi Plus. This seat is very good in the CLK. It is only very good - not excellent - because of the fact that the bottom of the Recaro seat is not a perfect match to the CLK rear seat cushion. Because of this, you will need to double-check that the seat is in a good position.
Unfortunately, the W208 CLK does not have Isofix on the back seat, and you will have to use the seat belts. We have a Recaro Isofix Base in our wagon. The great thing in the base is that placing the infant seat in the car takes about 3 seconds and is every time perfect.
My older child had a Mercedes-Benz Baby Safe Infant Seat by Britax/ Römer. It is a bit heavier than the Recaro Young Profi Plus, but it has the Baby Safe chip. Which allows you to install the seat on the front seat too. Unfortunately, this is not an Isofix seat. There is an Isofix variant of the same product, but it uses an Isofix base. And the Britax Isofix base is pretty big.
My older child grew out from the Mercedes-Benz Baby Safe Infant Seat 2 years ago. After this, I bought him a Mercedes-Benz Duo Isofix seat (by Britax/ Römer). In my opinion, the Duo seat was a bit expensive, but it is so great! My son loves it, and I love the ease of use. The Isofix "hooks" are integrated in the seat. So, there is no need for a base. If you do not use Isofix, there is a cover for them. And the Duo seat usability is still very good if installed with seat belts. The Duo is also very good on the back seat of the CLK.
