When I turn mine off the yellow warning light comes on to indicate it has been turned off. When I'm at a stand still and slam on the gas the light blinks like it trying to compensate for wheel spin. Does that sound right? I thought when you turned it off the computer wouldn't compensate.
According to MB, with ESP on, when the ECU determines there is wheel slip on a rear wheel (there are speed sensors at each wheel), the ECU will dial back power using the electronic throttle and apply brakes to the single that is slipping.
With the ESP off, the ECU will not impede the electronic throttle, however, it will still apply brakes to the drive wheel that's slipping.
