put in regular gas by accident, sleepy...

I was sleepy this morning and filled up my tank with regular gas by accident, by the time I realized, I switched it up and put about 3 dollars of premium in...

what can I do? is this bad?

Can I goto pep boys or autozone and get some octane booster so I don't mess anything up or get less performance?

Agreed. I dont think it is an issue for one tank. If you used it on a regular basis, then there could be issues.... I would just drive reasonably (dont hardcore rev the engine) until you need to fill up again....

I did that once too and to be safe I added a bit of octane booster to get the level back to around what we should use which the manual recommends 92 or better.

All you really have to worry about from one tank is a little knocking.... if you listen to the more paranoid types you could also worry about clogged injectors, but I say those folks are crazy!

Just go fill up when you hit a half tank this time and you'll be fine.

drive it.

my mech told me that it will actually run better on mid grade in cold weather. if the car isn't knocking no need to worry. i agree with prev post, get to half tank, fill up with prem and get some coffee first next time. lol

Right after Hurricane Katrina, I was driving from SC to TX and while comming through MS, I had to fill up with regular, because everyone was out of premium. I added a can of octane boost and hadn't a problem at all.
