Post CLK 320 performance mods?

I have a 99 CLK 320- I am very happy w/the car, and get many compliments-girls love the Benz
Anyways, I'm used to driving Rx-7's. I love them and still have 2.
I've had a 10th Anniversary Edition Turbo-I'd kill 350z's and Stangs,all day long-a few Turbo Rx7s,GTU,
several others...I like to go fast, don't we all?
The Benz hits 140mph no prob, but after that its done...I wouldnt mind
more acceleration, and better top end-any ideas?
I'm just about to do its 120k service, and then I'd like to do some mods besides the 18's w/lo pro's.

Unless you get a Kleeman SC set up or a House of Power ( HOP ) Vortech set up nothing out there will make your car feel any better HP wise. Fuken sucks. But there are cold air set ups you can do but they just make your car sound loud and you may get just a little more throttle response but not any HP. And any free flowing exhaust will help and you don't have to get a $1000 MB cat back...you can just get Borla, Magnaflow ect... Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, man-it looks like the SC will have to take place to get what I want... I thought about the exhaust, too, after driving loud Rx7's, its nice to have a quiet car-I'd like to keep it as quiet as possible, at least until I open it up. What about ECU reflashing?

I sent my ECU to INMotion for a tune. Definitely a noticable dif. they claim 18-20 more hrsp and a little better than that in torque. I didn't dyno the car but I do get better mileage, up to 32 mpg when driving easy. throttle response is going to depend on how the computer adapts to your driving style but there is a way to reset that. you can do the little things like the exhaust and K&N filter or maybe even a pulley kit but it doesn't add up to much in increased hrsp. If you want big dif spend big money on Kleeman SC.

Post Rx7 to CLK :)

That looks like a S4 GTU w/S5 Lights, Vert wheels,&Racing Beat exhaust?
Looks good man-here is a few pics of my old AE,&S5 GXL-and my current FB,&I have an SA-and the CLK, of course -the AE had JDM w/60k,smog block off,no ps/ac/air pump, cone filter-dual underdrive pulleys,750cc secondarys,2.5downpipe w/catback-very fast-the S5 had fresh rebuild w/stage 2 clutch, lowered on Cusco all around,S5 T2 wheels,Racing Beat header w/full Trust exhaust,Kaminari rear spoiler w/Amemiya wing, Supra front end-vert seats, short shift-the FB is all stock except for tint, alarm, stereo, and midpipe- I got for $300 from original owner when told it needed engine, turned out to be wires, and I put in plugs, cap, rotor, too-and w/103k, its at 133k now,and I've driven it to Missouri and back, all around haha I sold the FC's to help get the CLK tho, and happy I did, FC's are everywhere...CLK 320 performance mods?-dsc07269.jpg

S5 GXL w/factory speed sensitive PS, Racing Beat header, Random Tech cat, Mystery Y-Pipe, Racing Beat mufflers, Vert BBS-RS wheels, Mallory MSD ignition, Racing Beat light weight flywheel, custom built radiator, Tokicos, chipped ECU (waste of money), rebuilt the original engine @ 365,000 or so miles with new rotors and housings - and my "other car" would still pull away from it like it was parked. Sold after 430,000 or so miles to an enthusiast who flew into California from New Mexico and drove it home. I still hear from him from time to time at Rx-7Club & SevenStock.

Sell the Zoom Zoom

Sell your RX7 and use the money to hook up your Benz. Get an exhaust, Supercharger, Chip, AMG air box. You get more girls with the Benz and not a junky Mazda.
