W208 2003 CLK vs W209 - Benzworld.org

Hi All,

Browsing these forums I've learned more about the models and years of the CLK family. Specifically, I've come to know that I have a W208 CLK. I assume the W209's are the ones with the new body styling with the curved headlights as apposed to the round ones I have (and like).

My question is, mine is a W208 2003, but I've read that the 208's were only produced until 2002. The 209's started production in 2003. What's the cause of the discrepency? Is mine simply a 2003 model that was produced in 2002?

As far as I know, only W208 convertibles were carried over to 2003 model year. Is yours a convertible?

Yes, I should have mentioned it was the Cabriolet. So does that mean that a 2003 CLK Coupe has the new body styling?

Yes, 2003 was the first year of the new W209 Coupe. 2004 was the first year for the new W209 convertible. Id stay away from early models though....save some money, and buy a more reliable (and better looking) W208.

chem1441 explained it perfectly. Its definitely a 2003 W208 convertible.

Welcome to the W208 Cab. Club! I was driving along a W209 today...I'll take the 208 anyday...lovin mine too!! Just got it a couple months ago!
