Paint question

I just bought a 99 clk320 (pics to come Saturday). It is silver, but it has the black lower molding. Has anyone here painted that molding and if you wouldn't mind, post some pics. Thanks.

Yes. Before my body kit came in, I masked everything off and shot it with 2 coats primer and two coats expensive MB paint only to find that it looked better with just the primer and a clear coat. That black gravel guard is a mofo. Very absorbent. I would try to match the paint with a comparable gray primer and shoot a few coats. Also because of the gravel guards soft properties, you'll be doing a lot of touch ups.It looked 1000 times better than the black though. This is the only pic I could find (Ironically the boxes contain two Carlsson kits)

People are always selling their AMG side skirts. I'd ask around here, you might find them already painted your color.

That's funny.... when you enhance the photo, the shipping label reads something about Pharmaceutical Cocaine

You are right, just the little bit that I can in your pic looks better than how it looks now. Where did you get the MB paint? Did the dealership have it or did you go somewhere to get it mixed? Thanks for your help.

A friend of mine has an import auto body shop and mixes them for me. I don't think you would be able to get anything other than touch-up from the dealer.

You could try here http://www.paintscratch.com/paint-code.html but don't use their clear coat. It's horrible.
