RE: New black grill

Yeah, I like it. I know this probably sounds stupid coming from a midwestern born 30 year old professional whiteboy , but I just think it makes the car look more tough. Just badass instead of "elegant Mercedes".

RE: New black grill

Ouch. I showed one of my friends this and he said "You changed it to black? I thought it looked better chrome. That black grill makes it look like a Dodge Neon. Just spray paint your rims black, and put a coffee can on the exhaust pipe and you'll have an official street racer." [B)]
Oh hell....what does he know? Rotten sonofa.....

RE: New black grill

It's homeade. I'm not sure exactly how it was done or by who though so I really can't answer any questions on it.
I've researched doing this for awhile and it seems that if you're going to do it the best way would be to beadblast it to get all of the chrome off, then fine sand it and primer it and then spray it with some flexagent in the paint. I'm pretty much stealing this word for word from a guy who I think mostly hangs out on the other site. Anyway, that seems to be the best way so it doesn't chip off. We'll see how well this one holds up.

RE: New black grill

You just take your OEM grill to a shop and tell them to powdercoat it black. Looks good jt!
