Installed my chrome gauge rings

It was actually pretty easy with the directions from mr. pie. I hope I got them stuck on there right. I really don't want to go taking it apart again.

Also, I'll make this offer. Anyone who wants to install these, I'll be more than happy to save you the $20 I spent on the cluster removal tools. Just pay me for the shipping to you and promise you'll ship them right back to me and you will save some cash. If anyone is interested, let me know.

The rings really make it look good. How hard did you have to pull on the cluster to break it free. I saw in the DIY he said pull pretty hard, Just wondering how it was for you.

RE: Installed my chrome gauge rings

Hey, JT.

Nice work: they look great! Almost makes me want to think about pulling my 210 dash out (looks like the same ones would fit, too).

BTW, that is a Fast Times avatar, isn't it? Great movie, need to watch it sometime soon.

Take care and enjoy your ride,
Greg

I had to give it a few tugs. I may not have had it hooked very good because one of the sides slipped a couple of times but didn't do any damage.

Right...they're actually the same ones as what goes on the 210 as far as I know.

Yep....I should of put the next couple shots as my avatar but I thought I'd keep it clean. You're the first person who's mentioned anything about it.

Did you have any of the bulb issues the other guy had ???

anything blow out ?

AND ... did you HAVE to unplug the dash unit to apply them or did you leave it plugged in for the install ?

RE: Installed my chrome gauge rings

I don't think I had anything blow out. At least right now it doesn't seem like anything did.

Yeah...you definitely have to unplug it. It's no biggie. Just two plugs. I honestly followed his steps to a "T". They were very good.

RE: Installed my chrome gauge rings

Well further checking....I might have blown one bulb. You know how you can see the temp, mileage and time? Well on the right side (where the temp is) the background is more dark than the rest. Maybe I blew a light that's just a background light? I mean functionally it doesn't matter. It just looks a little weird.

RE: Installed my chrome gauge rings

I'll have to check on that after work or maybe even this weekend. I have absolutely no clue where the bulbs go or part numbers. If someone else could chime in that would be great.
