stock 16" CLK wheels and 17" chrome sport E wheels

My wife is killing me. She has a 2000 E430 with the stock 17" sport wheels which are chrome. I have a 2001 CLK320 with the stock 16" wheels. My question is, can I swap the wheels and tires from one car to the other? She has destroyed her second wheel in 4 months due to the low profile tire on the 17" rim because she doesn't pay attention to potholes and the railroad tracks. Thanks in advance.

Sure you could, but I'd let her keep the mashed wheels and go out and get myself some nice 18's or 19's.

Just don't have the cash for those and a set of good rubber to wrap them in [;)]. It's on my list just not there yet. Maybe all I need to do is get the chrome wheels off of the E Class.
