Removed resonator???

Fellas,

If you guys could enlighten the new MB guy here. What resonator did alot of you remove on your cars that I read in the Whip Pix thread? I know I might catch some sh*t, but I have to ask.

RE: Removed resonator???

i'll be honest with you and that's just my opinion, cause i know alot of guys like the sound, here's what i did .

i removed the main resonator first, the one right in the middle under the car ...i hardly noticed any difference in sound ....$150

then i decided that maybe the guys on the forum removed the other two rsonater , the smaller ones that are more on the front of the car .....$100

at first i liked it maybe cause it finally sounded like it has balls ( it's a 320 [V]) . but after a couple of days of driving it ,it started to sound more like our bikes used to sound when we were little kids when we put the card board on the back wheel( yes it's that bad )

if i had to do it all over again i'd spend an extra $200 and get a weltmiester exhaust . ( performance products sell them ) . my buddy has it on his clk and it sounds awesome

just my two cents worth ... good luck

RE: Removed resonator???

Exactly. I held out until someone was selling their exhaust (Eisenmann) for $425. It's the way to go. Now it's got BALLZ!!

Well new they're like $700 so yeah. I was just looking for a chrome tip when this popped up. Trust me it's worth every penny.

RE: Removed resonator???

Eisenmann Race exhaust is definitely worth every penny. I drive around with the radio off just to hear the roar!

Do you know if there is a hp boost with the Eisenmann exhaust, and if so how much? Thanks.

RE: Removed resonator???

the esinman is probably the best after market exhaust out there ,, thrill please show me where they sell it for $700 i'll be all over it the best , the cheapest i quoted one for was like $1200 ... by far the best sound there is ,,, as far as performance it's really a mind thing , cause the car sounds so aggresive with it it makes you think it's actually faster but it's really no improvement in HP ( 5 horses maybe )...what you might notice though is the throttle response you'll feel when you punch it and hear that thing roar , but again that could be a mind thing too [:o)].. like i said bro if i was you i'd waite and save my change and do it the right way like thrill did ....best of luck
