I took it in the A$$ at the dealer for a service B

First of all this is my 1st MB and it has 52K on the clock.
Let's see, I will list what they did.

B service
Spark plugs
Brake flush
Coolant flush
Fuel/air filter
3 clamp varied clamps ???

$1,647.76

This is what I usually pay to rebuild a trany in a domestic car.
I have had BMWs for years and thought I would step up to MB, I stepped in something!
All in all it's a fun car to drive and it looks killer.

Mark

Most of us are do-it-yourselfers here. I've been saving my MB dealership money for stupid sh*t like my son's college and a triple bypass for the next time I fry my ignition.

RE: I took it in the A$$ at the dealer for a service B

Yeah, I've been working on cars since I was 14. My buddy told me they are a pain in the ass to work on so I brought it to the dealer. I just wanted some legit records as well. I have been pretty impressed with this forum and the in-depth topics it has. I will make the dealer the last resort and this forum the first.

Thanks,
Mark

Wow........I will never give them a penny for those service. Those service are very easy to do.
LOL!

Hey Linh, Is it safe to shave a #1 pad? I'm thinking about going a little lower on suspension and I already have the thinnest bushing.

No, it is recommended at 100K or 5 years - mine is a 2000. It might be a bit smoother, it's hard to tell.

If you use the E-class #1 pad, then i think it ok to shave it down. The Slk #1 pad, i'm not too sure.
Are the SLK pad's thinner than E?
