2002 CLK55 AMG: back from dealership after 8 days:
[:D]
Just got my car back. I have to say, it was a great experience. 2002 with 33K miles, and under warranty until May 06.
They started off the experience by giving me an 04 ML350, that was pretty loaded, as a loaner. This surprised me since I didn't buy my CLK55 there.
I had a list of little items:
Cabriolet top cable unattached
Steering wheel up down button, hard to operate
B service due
cutting out under my occasional heavy foot (just started the day before I took it in)
The delay was finding the throttle cut off. I got a new throttle position sensor...didn't cure it.
They had an engine control module on order, but changed the MAF....and now it runs great.
It was a little doggy on take off, when I drove it out of the Dealership, so I thought maybe I lost the aggressive AMG programing during the repair. It turned out someone had activated the winter mode switch.... I flipped it over to summer, and it runs like the it used to. Love the torque of that 55 !!
Right down the list, every thing working fine now.
After some drive time today, I know it will be hard to put it away for winter in a couple of months.
I wish I had a $1 bill for every post on here about MAF troubles. LOL

I forgot to mention that to make the up, down, steering wheel button work correctly, they installed a new steering wheel. It worked before, but required alot of pressure.
Bottom line:
I was impressed with the quality of the repairs, and the fact that no corners were cut.

I didn't phrase that one very well !! Newbie !! LOL
The button on the left side of the steering wheel, used to page the display forward and backward, or to cause the radio to search higher or lower, was the up and down I was describing. My wheel only goes in and out, too.
The push button was very hard to active, but it wasn't the button cluster, it was the wheel itself.
So the installed a new one. The coolest part is that all the hand grime of 42 months of use is gone.
She is looking good. I also got warranty replacement on all four brake calipers. They are no longer rusty, but now the OEM cadnium finish. It all looks so nice, I may just put the cover on her, and store her in the garage until next season.
J/K I can't seem to not drive her, with that 55 torque. 6K miles in 3 1/2 months, and it's only 7 mile each way to work.
