any other solutions on the dash cluster?

im having problems with the temp and clock display "missing pixels" from the forums i read either i

1) take it to the dealer and spend $1000 bucks

or

2) live with it

lol is there any other way of fixing this problem?
and whats wrong with it?

or buy an odometer off of ebay

I've yet to hear of anyone buying a used cluster and getting it to work. The issue with that is the mileage has to be programmed onto the cluster by MB.
