Quick history..I've lowered my 00' CLK430 down with H&R spring. CLK Pad #2 front, stock rear. You can tell the car has bad camber (I'll have Kmac front and speedybne rear camber installed and alignment done tomorrow). Haven't had alignment done since lowered
THe problem:
Just put in 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear in this past weekend and it started to sound really bad from the back...Like the lugs/bolts are hitting the rotor/brake.....Went back to the shop and found nothing wrong...nothing hit, but every time I drive (doesn't matter slow or fast), it sounds really bad....We didn't think the lugs are long since we could jack both sides up and turn the wheels with no problem. Looked at the lugs and found NO evidence that they're hitting anything...Have anyone had this problem before? DOes anyone know what it is? Is it because bad camber plus bigger than would cause this? I'm now afraid to drive since I don't know what else it will break and have appointment for the cambers installed tomorrow...Any help would be greatly apprecited...please please help...
RE: Weird sound from the back...Need help ASAP please
I had this problem but it was just that the lugs were too long. Did you put the car on a lift and put it in drive and there was no noise? Doesnt make sense.
RE: Weird sound from the back...Need help ASAP please
I didn't lift the car and put it on drive. I jacked the rear (both sides) up and turned them by hand (no sound)...I don't think I could lift it up and put it on drive either because when you lift the car up, being that the wheel is big (9.5), it hit the bottom part of the fenderweld...
The weird thing is that it's not consistent...Once in a while it's stopped for few seconds...and it doesn't sound when you reverse (not when I tested anyway) [xx(] [xx(]

thats weird. My wheels didnt even come close to the fenderwells when I put it on the lift so I put mine in drive. Does it only make noise when you turn the wheel or always?

Yeah, I don't get it. When you lift the car the wheels should just drop straight down. Are you sure?

It didn't hit the entire fenderweld..It only hit one small part, but it's turnable...Rear offset is 35mm and I am running 265x30x19 which I am sure everyone is using...
It doesn't make that sound when I turn...I hate this cuz I haven't been able to drive the car for more than a month (first waiting for the wheels, then rear camber)...Thought I could drive this last Sat. now is this.....
