wow, sucks. Thats alot of money down the drain. Did you get a second opinion? Why don't you get in touch with that guy making rims on the board here. Maybe you could be his celebrity spokesman and get a deal.

RE: so my rim is not repairable

I'll tell ya. I've got 8.5 on the front with 37mm offset and being lowered I'm pushing the envelope. If I hit it hard on a sharp turn it'll rub a little(heard it first today) But my front is pretty low.

RE: so my rim is not repairable

You might be able to do it as long as you dont go wider than 235's. Its the tire that rubs after all, not the rim.

From PIC's in your earlier post, I have to vote in favor of the damaged wheel style, they are tight. The people who do wheel repair around here (Indianapolis, In) claim they can work miracles. A business called Mr. Wheel, has manufactured his own equipment to do the job. This place gets great references from all the tire shops I have spoken to.

I took might curbed wheel into the tire shop for a track balance, where they measure wheel runout. It turned out to not be bent. So, I did take to the wheel repair place. I plan to drive it until spring, then decide on going from factory 17's on up to 19's.

Good luck with your search.

RE: so my rim is not repairable

There is a place called Ye Old Wheel House in Elkridge MD. I heard some good things abot them but I had a bad experience with them. I had two rims straightened (18's) and they messed up the clearcoat finish and wanted to charge me to refinish them.
