I'm just asking becasue I was tryin to decide between the two b4 I settled for the 2002 clk55, mainly becasue I like the body of the older one. I think the newer model looks too much like regular girly c class...and the rear lights are terrible as well....But which one would u guys pick?

No brainer in my opinion and I bet a lot of guys here agree. You came to the w208 forum, so I think most of us are going to say the CLK55. You're right....the body of the older model looks much better.

The 55 is a better car, better made and feels less mass market. However the W209 will depreciate less now and you could tune the 500 to go as fast or faster than the 55. So you have to choose between a good drive (the 55), or a more modern and better depreciator (500). I think the only plus point on the 500 is the parameter steering.

In the early and mid eighties I had at one time or another a 70 Challenger, 71 'Cuda ragtop, 70 Charger and 69 AMX. Nobody wanted these cars and I never spent more than $400 a pop. If I had kept them I could almost buy that Gullwing,lol.
