before and after cleaning

I don't think I've actually ever posted pics of my car before (other than the last post with the new intake). Mine is still basically stock, but here are a couple before washing shots and a pic after washing. I went over to Str8's place (seems like I can't do anything car related without him, ha ha) and he provided the stuff and some labor to help me out. He basically told me what to do and I did it. I washed it with dawn to get the old wax and everything off and then we used a dual action cleaner/polisher followed by wax. It looks tons better. Now if I can only keep it that way.

Ours cars look exactly the same! Same colour and trim but only difference is the indicators. Mine too has the V8 badges on the side[:D]But mine is always dirty because its always raining in London.

Lookin' good!! I'm a clean freak (glad I got silver) and curator of the worlds largest Maguires collection. Get some of that spray and shine stuff they make and hit it in the morning before you leave. Nothing turns heads like a shiny MB! [8D]

btw, isn't Dawn a little harsh for the paint?

Wouldn't Maguires paint cleaner do the same? Please say yes cuz the shelf in my garage is about to pull out of the Molly anchors.

RE: before and after cleaning

As Str8 and I talked about, I'm going to buy some Maguire's NXT Spray Wax for quick wax jobs and Eagle 1 quick detailer for after washes and here and there. I'd never ever use Dawn on a car, but after talking with Str8, I've come to this conclusion. If you're going to do a complete polish, wax and everything job then wash it with down to strip off the old stuff. If you're just washing and doing a wax or spray wax or whatever then stick to a good car wash.

Look at my first pic, before washing and the last pic, after washing. I just put the V8 on today. I've had them sitting around for a bit but was just waiting until I got it all nice and cleaned up before I put them on.

I would be scared as hell to put my car through a car wash, let alone use Dawn, but ya never know [8D]

I meant a good brand of car wash soap....didn't mean take it to a car wash. Guess that came out a little wrong.
