As stated on the other spot, I've been "lurking" back and forth between this forum and the other for a minute and now I've finally decided to start posting. Since the debut of the CLK and driving my Cuz's a few summers back, I always wanted the drop because of the open top "Sex Appeal" but I can't front the Coupe is just so hard and seems like less of a headache if you know what I mean. I spend alot of time back and forth btwn VA Beach and NYC.
Do any of you coupe owners ever regret not getting the drop? I'm kinda back and forth between the 2 bodies. I'm even unsure of V6 vs. V8. Gas being a non factor but more so the purchase price. But I've noticed there's roughly a $2K diff between them so that isn't so bad Coming from a strong but sluggish V8 Range Rover will I really miss it?? I never drove the 320 but I can't imagine it being weak. So current owners, Holla at me. Thanx in advance In addition the '01 55's are looking real tough right now and the prices arent as high as I thought they would be. I'm not a speed freak but don't mind having it the few times I need it either.

None yet but I do love Goat Racing!
I've read most of the other post, but definitely go with the V8. I personally think that's a no brainer. I love the coupe but see how the drop top could be fun. They're definitely not worth it here in Illinois because of the crappy weather. I just love the sleek looks of the coupe, so at least a 430 coupe. I still wish I would have waited just a bit longer and bought a 55, but I still love what I have and got a great deal on it as well.
I say the coupe hands down, and I live in southern california where the weather doesnt get any better...I just think that the cab ONLY looks good when the top is down, and its also slower than the coupe...Besides...I'm not a big fan of having the sun blazing down on me all day anyway...

RE: What's sexier Cab or Coupe??
I went with the 320 for gas reasons definately. I put a hundred miles a day on and I already spend around $120 a week on gas. With my ML430 V8 I fill it up, circle the gas station twice, and then fill it up again......No thanks! I'm a BIG fan of 70's muscle cars (Road Runner in particular) and I think the coupe has a lot of those styling characteristics. The 320 needs a lot of work to get it to look just right, but to me that's half the fun. Most importantly, look for a good deal with low milage and warranty if possible. I got mine off Ebay and I don't regret it.

i agree with what the guys say .. a drop top is only nice when the top is down , but with the top up it doesn't compare to the coupe,, i got the 320 also and i love it , i'm not a speed freak either and i think i have more power than i can handle ,, like thrill said , hooking it up is half the fun .. and as well as thrill i got mine off ebay too .. look long enough and i'm sure you'll find one that you'll like just make sure you check the sellers feed back and call him and ask him questions too if you'd like , also , i know it's sometimes worthless but i would get a carfax report on it just for the hell of it for 20 bucks it's worth it imo.. good luck and welcome to the forum
