RE: tinting

I literally just dropped my car off at Ziebart. I went with the darkest one they had, I think #4. They will not do the windshield, and they said that doing the the rear would interfere with the radio. So they are just doing the four side windows. Btw, he said ANY tinting in Illinois is illlegal, so I guess I'm taking a risk. I'll probably have to sign a waiver.

Unless something changed that I don't know about that guy is wrong. You can tint rear passenger windows and your rear window. Any amount of tint on front passenger and the windshield is most definitely illegal. Actually, I think you can tint of the front passenger windows if the vehicle is older than 25 years or something stupid like that. Basically if you have a classic car you can. So yeah Thrill, if you're talking about the front windows it is illegal in IL. Otherwise though you can tint the rear all you want.

RE: tinting

Word JT...

Man, I've been pulled over a few times already for my tints...and just recently got a $75 ticket for it because he said it was an officer safety issue. But then he let me off with speeding (71 in a 55), suspicion of racing, expired plates, no plate in the front, tinted plates in the rear....and ended up giving me my license back because I needed it that night for the bars!!! Cool cop.

John, that was on Towanda behind my house... [}:)]

Yep...that's what you get in our town. My buddy used to have a Mustang 5.0 that had just the slightest tint on the front windows. It was so slight even though I had been in it about a 100 times I never even noticed. Anyway, we got pulled over one night because of it. They didn't give two sh*ts about the tint. All they do here is try and bust drunk drivers. I was all liquored up but as soon as they found out he was my DD they just let him go with a warning. That no front plate is a killer in our town, along with any light out. Again, give them even one little reason to pull you over and chances are you will be......especially at night.
