Cannot get new TPMS sensor to "learn"

I need help with my 2010 C300 4matic TPMS system.

I recently bought this car. The left front wheel had to be replaced due to damage to it. When I bought the new wheel, it did not contain a TPMS sensor.

I bought one from an ebay seller (OE Wheels) stating that it was a compatible 433 MHz sensor.

With the second-hand wheel I bought with no sensor in it, I would drive around for a few minutes until the "Tire sensor missing" message would appear and I would see the front left wheel lit up on the little drawing of the car on the instrument cluster.

With this replacement sensor installed by a local shop, I turn the key to "on", use the arrow buttons to go to tire system, reset the system, and drive away. The TPMS light flashes for about a minute then lights solid.

My understanding is that I should drive around for 10 minutes and the system will "learn" the new sensor's position, etc.

After driving for 10 minutes, 20 minutes, doesn't matter, the TPMS text on the instrument cluster just reads "Tire system active" and never shows the drawing of the car with the individual wheel pressures and the TPMS light never goes off...

Again, 3 sensors are factory, one is aftermarket, and the problem persists...

Can anyone trained with these things please help? I really want to avoid a trip to a dealer and their prices for this...

I haven't researched this but wouldn't you have to reset the sensor while the car is in motion? Isn't that how it gets it baseline for tirepressure????

the problem is the aftermarker sensor is crap. you need to replace it with a MB sensor. and why did you not take the sensor from the old wheel?
