Audio 20 Aux wiring question iphone/ipod

Okay, I have the basic audio 20 in my 2010 W204 with no NAV, no MM, nothing. I recently bought a cable that connects via the iphone dock connector (not headphone jack) to the 3.5mm aux connector in the glove box. Sounds great but I would need to know if anyone has had success in running a cable out of the glove box into a more accessiable area in the center console? The current cable is 6ft, can buy longer or extenders if necessary. I'm about to upgrade an JL sub in the trunk and Focal seperates for the front stage with an external amp. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Not sure if somebody has done it, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to just get a longer cable and run it inside the center console to the desired location. Shouldn't be a big deal.

You just need to disassemble enough stuff out of the way so that you have good enough access.

Because aside from removing the iPhone cable, there aren't any holes to run another cable through without drilling/cutting through the material. I'm assuming that's why he asked because I'm facing the same dilemma.

With the W204 it's even easier.

or better yet, drill another hole in the side of the glove box and bring out the aux port, and then get this,
TuneLink Auto hardware accessory for iPhone, iPod Touch & iPad
it basically lets you play music from any ipod or phone with bluetooth, through the car speakers, and the best part is when u turn the vehicle off, your music stops, and when the device gets power (turn the key), it auto connects and starts playing music,

i think it would be better then taking things apart and running wires

Have you used this Tunelink before, just wondering if has any kinks or bugs and if the SQ is still good by going through the AUX input. I have a 12V outlet in my glovebox along with the AUX input so this may be the best option.

it works perfect in the glove box because you can plug it in the aux port in there, also I found the sound quality to be best through MP3 discs, and then it was a bit quitter throughout the iPod aux cable, and through the bluetooth it was the exact same quality as it is via a auxiallry cable, but it is the quietest out of all three methods, i just had to turn up the volume a bit more with the tune link attached to the aux port, but i ended up returning my tune link because i needed money and just use my old iPhone 3g loaded with music that stays in my glovebox hooked to the iPod aux cable.

Does the Tunelink affect the factory bluetooth used for phone calls in any way? I don't want to lose the funtionality of the current setup with indash microphone and playback of calls from the stock stereo system.

i have an iPhone 4S, and it connected via bluetooth to both devices, so i could use the stock head unit to use the calling function handsfree,

you have to set your head unit to aux mode, and unplug any iPods if you have the iPod aux cable as well

I ran mine from the glove ox to the ashtray. I hide my iPod in the ashtray now and just close it when I'm parked.
