Hitch for C300

Just picked up my cpo 2008 C300 4matic tonight and was curious if any one on this forum has installed or would recommend a hitch that doesn't require drilling. Not planning on any heavy pulling, just have a hitch mount bike rack that I would like to use.

thanks!

Why not use the rack on top of the car

Just preference I guess. I find that a hitch mounted bike rack is easier to load/unload. I also already have a hitch mount bike rack as well that holds 4 bikes from my other car - now I just need a hitch so I can use the rack I already have with the C300.

Ended up ordering this from etrailer Trailer Hitch by Curt for - C11030 Does require drilling 2 holes but instructions didn't seem that difficult. I don't mind the look of a hitch mount on my car given the fact that it's offset by the convenience and less likely to scratch the car with either a trunk or roof mount.

hitch for bicycle

Hello my name is jonathan. I just purchase my c300 and I'm planning to put a hitch on my car as well. I also have a bike rack, but from my previous experience on my previous car, don't want to damage the car. Would you mind taking some pictures of the hitch installed and or if you also have some pictures with the bike mounted too.

Thank you
Jonathan

@bt2011 -- did you end up installing the Curt Hitch? I had problems with fit for mine and assumed it was because it was designed for the luxury model and did not have enough clearance for the AMG bumper.

Does anyone have any pics of the Curt hitch installed on their car? I am going to order either the 11030 standard hitch or the 110302 hitch with the euro ball mount. The only pic I have found is in Curt Mfg's installation pdf, but you can not see that much detail. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has installed a trailer hitch on their C class. Thanks!

I prefer the hitch solution to carry bikes vs the top of the car. I am one of the dummy that forgot about the bikes and drove in the garage. Guess what happened...
Using a hitch would have saved me.
