Hi Welcome to the Forum,

Each time you start the car, with an empty passenger seat, the passenger SRS light should come on for a second or two, and then go out.

If the light doesn't come on at all, I think you should get the dealer to check it

The light comes on when i turn the key once and stays on for a few seconds but goes off even if there's no passenger. Just not sure if that's normal. But the lights comes on for a few seconds for sure.

Pretty sure it's meant to go out after a brief start-up check that its working, but ask your dealer for peace of mind. Your manual may tell you, also I can't remember.

Every modern car I've driven was the same.

If the light stayed on all the time then it would be kind of annoying and possibly distracting causing a safety hazard.

According to the manual, the centre console SRS light only remains on if the passenger airbag is disabled because of an MB child seat is installed.

In other cases it only comes on shortly to verify that the indicator is working.

The airbag is also disabled if no passenger sits at the passenger seat but there is no need to indicate this with the warning light (it would be distracting as mentioned before).

Are you guys sure about that? The SRS light on my 2010 C300W is on all the time if the passenger seat is unoccupied. It only goes out when there is a passenger in the chair. Is there a SRS light on/off toggle switch?

Mine is on all the time if no one is in the seat.

"A Brabus Maybach," he said, as she turned her head in time to see him give the wheel a little pat. "The firm of Brabus extensively tweaks the product of Maybach, to produce one of these."

"Darth my ride?"

guess it's time for another visit to the dealer

Edit: Would there be a difference if the car is a Canadian version or US version? Mine is a Canadian

Odd, I don't want to go to the car at this time and check but I specifically looked at this from the US manual. I'm pretty sure that my 221 behaves like the manual explained but if you say your indicator lights up when no passenger occupies the passenger seat, I'll have to go and check it from our cars some time soon.

The car does not have any on/off switch.
