Exclamation How Many Of You Switched from Audi or BMW to a MB?

I had an A4 2008 S Line Manual B7 full custom exhaust HID's and more...it was a lease I went to MB dealer and traded it in. I only had the Audi for a year and a half after switching it.

I still have 2 audi's : Audi 80 and Audi A4 B6. One gave to father in law for personal use and the other one at work.
And the new MB C220 CDI for leisure.

I had a 3 series....then 27 years of company-supplied cars...then checked out a new Bimmer, but bought the 09 C300.

P.S. According to BMWNA way back when, my 1977 320i was the first retail delivered 3 series in North America in October 1976, before they became "cool". Wish I still had it...what a classic! 2.0 4cyl engine, 4 speed manual trans, manual windows/locks/mirrors, hand crank sunroof, non-integrated console a/c unit. But, just about the identical color to my C....back then it was "Anthracite"...today, "Palladium"

A4 replaced by W204

I had an A4 2.0TFSI (200 bhp) with 18" 5 arm wheels, full leather, Bose stereo and all the other goodies. Great car but the ride and handling were not in the same league as my C220 CDI Sport - which is so refined and a joy to drive.

The C220 has a great engine with similar power output to the Audi but much more torque (thats diesel for you). But its so noisy around town compared with my petrol Audi which just had a nice little "grumble". On balance the Mercedes is a much better car.

If I did it again, I'd buy the C320 CDI - 6 cyl V6 diesel.

Nice! I agree with you on the handling my Benz handles better, maybe because my Audi was a FWD and my Benz is RWD besides the completely different suspension. What year was your Audi and was yours FWD?

From a 2003 A4 V6 Quattro to a 2008 C300 Luxury 4Matic.

I had a BMW Z4 3.0si and a 2007 BMW 530xi. They were both terrific, but I wanted a change. Tomorrow I will take delivery on a 2010 C300 4-matic.

Just came off lease of a 2007 A3 S-line with all the goodies (except Nav) into a 2010 C350 4M (also without Nav - I drive from home to work and I know where both of those places are, lol!) Still getting used to the softer ride of the Merc, the A3 had a go-cart feel to it, plus it was 6-speed manual trans vs the 7-speed auto in the C350. Hope I don't start to drive like an old man.

I just came out of an 05 Acura TL and currently own a 79 Porsche turbo (500 rwhp and weighs 2600 lbs). I looked at a G37 and M35 Infinity, a 350i Lexus, a 328i and a 335i before I ended with my used C300.

I ruled out the 350i because of the lack of interior room. I ruled out the Infinities because I think they are over-priced and unrefined. That left the BMW's against the C300 sport. In fact, I drove the C300 to the BMW dealer and drove them one right after another. To make it more interesting, the BMW was brand new where the MB was an 09, but the MB handled better, wind noise was less in the MB, it was cheaper and it had a better warranty (MB is certified). On the other hand, I loved the 335i, but not for $20k more. The C300 is very impressive with a 3.0L and 7sp giving me average 25 mpg and great handling. I bought the car with 14k miles on it and their 100k or 4 year warranty for well under $30k. To me, that's value.
