I've got an early production '08 W204 "C300" 7Gtronic anyway 36K miles and the other day I noticed a slight squeak when slowing to a stop. When I washed the car the other day I reached in and felt the rotor surface and noticed I could feel a lip along the edge of the rotor that led to believe I'm close to needing new rotors?
Just curious how many miles you guys have gotten out of your oem brake components. And do I need to take the car to the dealer for brakes or can I have an indy do it for less? Looks like the rotors are a special type with the holes drilled in for cooling and such. How much does the dealer typically charge for pads & rotor replacement. I was told that you don't resurface "drilled rotors" thanks in advance.

I have 41k on my early 08 and are still on my stock front brakes. I replaced the rear brakes myself to get rid of the break dust. I am sure that around 50k, I will have to do the front...if I have the car by then.
rear pads changed at 22,500 but I think the dealer ripped me off as they had looked fine to me.

54,500 miles on a very early '08, 350 and originals at all four corners with no discernable difference in stopping power nor any indentified noises. I drive about 110 miles each day in heavy highway traffic so I have been pleasantly surprised with the longevity of these breaks compared to all of my past Benz’s.

Are you on original tires still, if so what brand/type?

How did the brake dust go after you changed them? I want ceramic but can't find them.
