itunes and locked mp3 tracks don't work??

Is there a way to unlock songs purchased from itunes?? My COMAND system in my 08 C300 won't read any mp3 data tracks that were purchased from itunes. I tried data cd's, dvd's and even the memory card slot but no luck.
Any advice? Anyone know what to do?

Advice would be much appreciated!

Yes it is - basically, you burn the mp3s as audio cd tracks then re-import them as mp3s at which point they no longer contain the "lock" ... I have not had a problem with playing these mp3s anywhere.

Yeah, what they describe above works. Burn albums or whatever to regular CD format, and then rip those to MP3. However, keep the origional itunes somewhere too, since u are losing quality going through these conversions.

I just tried that and for the most part it worked - some files didn't for whatever reason. I found the sound quality to be the exact same (thankfully because sound quality is so important). The other annoying thing is now I have to do this next time I buy from itunes - I'm gonna think twice about using itunes again.

Thanks for the help.

If you search you'll find programs available that can unlock protected music files to MP3. they work much better than the CD burn/rip method.

Not that I've ever tried this myself though......

this is a more expensive way to do it, but when you buy from iTunes you can buy the songs from iTunes plus. this is a unlocked version of the song. i think it cost like $1.20 instead of 99c. but if you have to buy the CD and then burn it and then rip it, it might be easier to do it this way.
