Thumbs up Safety feature

I found this safety feature by accident:

When closing your window, when it hits an object during the process of closing (such as an arm), the window will go down instead of continuing to go up preventing an accident to happen (such as a severed head- yuck! ). Didn't know about this feature nor can't find it in the owner's manual. You guys can also try but be warned in case the feature will not work for you.

BTW, I also tried it in my ML, also works !! (Also not in the owner's manual)

Its called the "Pinch control". Bit like a garage door that reverses it self if it hits an obstruction. Mainly to stop accidents with little kiddies fingers and necks.

Sometimes they get hyper active and there is a section in the manual on how to reset the feature.

Bad if you're trying to escape from someone trying to get into the car by putting their hands and arms in at your and or the locks.

Yep. Look how the power window switches are designed, again for the safety of kids.

I would just hold the window up button although I don't believe my w203 has this feature.

That's why you just drive off. Does the pinch control work if you hold the button and not just do auto up? I tested the auto up pinch control with my brother's arm a long time ago but I don't want to try it when I hold the button.
