Hi guys, just for kicks, i bought a luxury grille for the C300 on ebay for really cheap. i am thinking of swapping the grille into my wife;s C300 sport in Barolo red.
my only qualm is that the luxury grille has the exact same emblem as what is on the hood of the C300 sport. i am not sure how it will look, but i think it is worth the gamble. i like the understated look of the luxury grille and i also like the clean hood of the sport version.
opinions? i am going to legoland for the weekend, i hope i wil have time sunday night to swap out the grilles. it is a difficult task?
yup, me too, but i got the grille really cheap and since it is my wife's car, something a little bit more subtle might work. i love the AMG styling of the sport model and will just try it for kicks when i get the chance.

IMO, the tri-star may be ok but it will look odd having 2 MB emblems in front.
I have the C300 Luxury car with the Sport grill conversion kit installed. Along with the grill, the kit includes the flat round flush hood emblem, replacing the three star vertical ornament.
My local dealership said it's becoming more common for the luxury grills to be replaced with the sport and I saw a luxury with the sport grill and the luxury ornament left on the hood. It looked weird - a big and little Mercedes peace sign coming at you.
There are many who love the luxury grill and find it fits more nicely with Mercedes history.
I love the sport one, but I very much respect the luxury look.
More importantly I respect MB's decision to insure that they don't become another "Oldsmobile". The Sport look of the C-class really stands out, but underneath it's mainly a luxury car.
I think it'll look fine. With the new grille designs on all MB sedans, with the traditional grille you'll have to live with the small badge at the top of the grille and the one on the hood.
