Traction control defeat & auto shifting

Hello all, I just leased a C350 a couple of days ago. I was on my way back from a BMW dealer and drove by a Mercedes dealer. Saw the C350 and thought it looked cool, and leased it within 30 minutes. I love the car, but I have a couple of things I don't liek about the car. Is there a traction control defeat on the car? I see there's an ESP defeat button but no traction control defeat button. Also, the transmission is slow to downshift when I stomp on the gas. I upgraded from a 1997 mustang so this is a huge upgrade. But honestly the mustang's auto downshifted way faster when I step on the gas. Is there a particular way to "program" to auto tranny on the C350 and turn off the traction control? Thanks.

ESP = traction control system
someone might argue with me, but they all work pretty much the same way.
i believe even with turning off ESP, it won't go off completely. just sensitivity of traction control sensor is in low setting.

for downshifting, this car is luxery car. have you try kick down? i mean pressing gas pedal all the way to the end?

I did...I guess I just have to live with it. May be I should have waited for the advanced agility package. Thought there might have been a way to program the shift logic or something.

This has been discussed before....to gain power to pass...HOLD the stick to the left and it will drop into a lower gear...after you safely pass...HOLD the stick to the right and it will go back into AUTO tranny mode.

Have you got a button with S and C on it? Make sure the S is selected.

Yep, this is what I started to do.

Also, if you're in the cruise control pressing all the way up on the cruise talk a couple times seems to accelerate you faster than the pedal.

Also like they said once you're break in period is over 1500 miles, make sure to go to "S" mode which stands for standard/sport instead of C "comfort."

You got a really sweet car! Enjoy it!

There is the dyno mode option. There are instructions on YouTube on how to do it. It disables ALL safety nannies: ESP, ABS, ETS, etc. It isn't recommended unless you know how to drive without ANY of them.

The transmission is an adaptive one. Once you're out of the break-in period stomp on it as often as you want and it will adapt to your aggressive driving style. Drive it like a granny after a while and it will adapt to that too. The quickest way is to do the "ECU reset" which somewhat relieves the drive-by-wire lag.

You could get the SprintBooster which basically gets rid of the lag by "adjusting" the throttle signals.

I checked out the SprintBooster website. They are in Greece. Has anyone tried it yet? Also, while cruising, can I downshift the gears too much and damage the transmission like in a manual? Or will the transmission program keep me from downshift too many gears?
