C350 Owners Anyone install the K&N Air Filter Yet?

Question of the week folks...

We're looking at installing the K&N air filter on the C350. Inside sources are telling us it will bump it up about 2-3 mpg. With gas here in LA circling the $5 gal drain, we thought it might help out. I also talked to the MB Service Manager Locally who does our car... and it shouldn't hurt it at all.

Anyone have any experience with it yet? Thanks!

Did you have to re-program the computer for the increased airflow?

no, but i also have chipped ECU and underdrive pulley installed.

Interesting... How much of a boost in HP and MPG do you get from the combo of the three? Also, is the 320 the same as the 300 in Japan (3.0l)?

I'm seeing a drastic increase!!! Very worth it. I'm getting 31 on hwy and 25-26 city. But I don't drive like a kid either. I take my time. Not in a rush to get anywhere.

And how are you calculating your gas mileage?

Does anyone have a K&N filter installed on a 05 C230 and would like to share any changes noticed?

I'm /ing my miles verses how many gallons I fill up with everytime. I heard something that the computer doesn't give a true mpg so that's why I just do simple math instead.
