Whats the Aux input in the glovebox?

Hi,

Just ordered a c220 cdi sport from the uk and no ipod link was available as an option. It comes with an Aux input in the glovebox and wondered what this is? Is it just a simple 3.5mm jack input?

I was going to upgrade to the 8 speaker system with dial near armrest but in this option it doesnt mention the aux input and i'd rather have it than not.

I just plug that aux input to iPod, it can play but audio quality is not that great.
But at least my iPod can work without the iPod kit $$$

I tried my ipod in the aux port and didn't hear anything coming out. Is there a button you need to press to enable the aux port over the radio or sat because when I plugged mine in, I still heard the radio

Oh you have to switch to Disc first, then select Aux from the menu.
I have to put my iPod volume to almost loudest.

I use it to park my Q-tip for future use.. Just in case I feel like cleaning my ear again..
