why sirius ?!

what annoys me the most is why I have to pay for sirius radio as part of the package.

I don't even remember the last time i listened to regular radio.

I would rather spend that money on something useful like quickpark!

Sirius radio is part of this decades innovative useless junk, it should not be part of my timeless mercedes =(

If you really hate it, call Sirius with your ESN number and you can have it deactivated (no rebates though)..

Sirius is the best radio ever. I have had XM and Sirius before my C300, and Sirius is way better. If you ever drive on the highway, flip around the channels a little, you will love it. I have all of my music on dvds and I still love listening to everything on sirius.

remember this is an entry level merc, the difference between Sirius and quick park is a couple grand. So to keep costs down Sirius is the way to go, plus with an iPod who listens to radio anymore...

I doubt you actually have to pay for the subscription just because it's in the car. I got a free six months (I think)...but I was a subscriber prior to my buying my C300. You can just let the free subscription lapse couldn't you?

I like to drive cross-country, and for that Satellite Radio is a blessing. And on the music channels there are no commercials, which is what I used to hate about broadcast radio, and why I eventually stopped listening. Yeah, I listen to my iPod too...but having Satellite has led me to a lot of new music I would never have heard before, and would not now be on the iPod if I hadn't.

My only gripe with Sirius is that they've killed one of the stations really I liked listening too when I first subscribed. There was a really nice Swing channel that they killed, and I'm still ticked off. Now it's somehow become the All Frank Sinatra All The Time channel. But there is still enough programming on it I like to keep me subscribing. It's nice to be able to hear new music and not have to sift for it from between massive amounts of commercials...

Be nice if you could get Internet Radio though the car sound system...

Agree but not by much. Also wish Stern wasn't there but if thats what you want to listen to go for it, I'll stick with 1st Wave.

.
In Canada, you'll get free six months so it's up to you if you want to continue the subscription. One thing I like about satellite radio is you'll get it anywhere while driving in North America. If you really have to drive, you can still listen to your favourite NBA and NFL games
